Hi Brinty, I'm from Tauranga too, I came to Brissy in the early eighties. I always thought that White Island had the chance of blowing up one day, I've been looking for possible causes of disaster sized tsunamis for the west coast of Australia, previously i considered how much affect a California earthquake would have on Brisbane, i think it would have to be massive to generate enough swell to pass both Morton and stradbroke, maybe we would experience a 5 to 10 mtr tidal surge. On the other hand if White island blew up on a smaller scale because it's facing away from us nothing would happen but on a scale large enough to split the north island in 2 the would cause a few problems along the coast, so a plauseable theory is that a California earthquake could cause a wave large enough to put water into the crater of white island which in turn could have the capacity to split the North Island. Does any body know how water in the crater would generate enough energy to split the island in two. (any links to websites would be great)

Exclamation Re: Australian Ground Crew Members?

It's not so much the height of a tidal surge or tsunami that is the thing that causes the damage, but the wavelength from trough to trough. Imagine a swell that is say, 5 metres high with a distance of 100 metres between troughs. For ease of explanation, and using a mathematical formula, picture this swell as a triangle 100 metres at the base and 5 metres to the top. You would finish up with an amount of water that would be contained in a rectangle 50 meters by 5 metres or, put another way, 250 cubic metres of water for every metre of the wave's width.

A cubic metre of seawater weighs over a tonne so if a wave was of the dimensions mentioned above, there would be the pressure of 250 tonnes pouring onto the east coast for every metre width. Increase the wavelength by tenfold to 1 kilometre and the weight of water would also be multiplied ten times to 2500 tonnes per metre width.

Scary eh? But we've left one other factor out of the scenario - the speed the wave is travelling at. If it were travelling at say, 100 kph, can you imagine the effect it would have? How far inland it would travel? Think on it this way - there is a mass of water weighing 2500 tonnes traveling at 100kph and it is 500 metres long.

If you still have difficulty with that picture, then imagine a runaway train that is 500 metres long consisting of a string of carriages five metres high and filled with water, travelling at 100kph. Now imagine a wall of these runaway trains, side by side for as far as the eye can see.

If it weren't for The Great Dividing Range, I reckon Alice Springs could get a tad damp.

Mark Eagle Eye's said that it's a bit of a concern as to whether they're strong enough to burry. You have to reinforce them, and even then it's a risk.

Also, due to disturbances with the magnetic field of the earth, metal may become really magnetic and things may fly across the room...I don't know how likely this is, but that's what I was told. I know there are people that have used them though, and we're thinking of using them to burry supplies in, tools and stuff, seperate to our living area. So it's a thought.

Good to keep the ideas flowing though, and like I said, we're probably going to use them, just not to live in.

On a side note, we finally sold our house today! I'm looking forward being a lot more prepared now that we can buy our land and start getting seriously ready.

The more interviews I read/listen to on Camalot, the more anxious I get about being ready! I just listened to George Green...I hope Australia is less effected than America, I'm not ready yet!!!

Well hello family!
It's so very cool to see aussies all over the place, as i have been away, but i will be home soon! When i get back i am going to the ranges in nth nsw where we are manifesting a community of new paradigms (among many great communities there). Survival is one thing, but creating positive communities for the future NOW is where it's at, regardless of what many come. Nth nsw is the shiniest place re: positive vibes, freedom fighters, forests, survivalists and spiritual connectivity... to name a few. There are some high high places (ie: not Byron Bay) and amazing switched on beings n powerful mountains. Any one wanna join me? let's surf the endtime adventure in love n light - see u in the fifth dimension!

PS - i agree with edward.... secluded self sufficiency is very romantic, but having been there, done it, it's a HARD road.... we are social beings and better off in communities where the energy is dynamic and we can manifest positive power collectively.

Hiding out is just as much about raising your vibration beyond that which will attract calamity!

And checkout SECOND CREATION at www.tortuga.com... the next episode theme is PLANETARY ARTS: SURVIVING & THRIVING and it's out soon...

We too are probably not far out enough so the Vic mountains look promising as back up. Does anyone have any information of caves in Victoria? Also VESTA please explain more on Quartz line in Victoria. We are looking into building a HUGE CLOUD BUSTER for those towers and good vibes... if you haven't yet and have the time...look into ORGONITE. Great to see some fellow Aussies here we were starting too feel like aliens...pardon the pun!!!

Can't even find info on your link ...
But if you're interested in such things here's some more stuff about the subject ...
Pretty far out ideas here ... I'm open minded but unless there's a total 1984 orwellian government I don't think I'd ever be into or practice such actions as society would fall apart if we all went down this path.

Count me in - 100%. I'd like to put myself forth as a core member of the Ground Crew, and I'm committed to relocating to wherever is the best space for us to collaborate and create our safehaven in this country.

Vesta, I'm inspired by you and the light you shine - and would love to connect.

Blessings to you all, keep spreading the word - education is the most important thing at this time - get your loved ones, family and friends to watch Zeitgeist Addendum as the first step. The more people know about what is going on, the more we can collectively do something about it.

Blessed be.

Welcome to the GC Dakini7,

merry meet.

There are so many ppl on this forum that are beacons of light during this initial phase and so much info that is being made available for us but it's like sorting the wheat from the chaff some days......... hard work to pick out the really important pieces of info from the flotsam and jetsam of general conversation but so worth it if it provides another viable piece of the puzzle!

There are a number of good folk in your immediate area, more further afield in rural VIC and then you can start working your way west or north and the connections will be easily made as we're a fairly good and welcoming group of ppl. Some folks have already sorted out their contingency plans and know what and how they will be working towards and achieving their plans for the near future. Others are still coming to terms with the bigger picture and the implications it might have for them and theirs. We are all at various stages of enlightenment and knowledge, walking many different paths and yet such strong connections have been forged between us all.

These good folk here are amazing and true inspirations for me to continue to travel along this path, a big call out to the Aussie GC!!!

Blessings to you and yours for our futures,

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God/dess hold you in the palm of their hand.

Vesta.

here's a little light reading for you all:

QUOTE "Now back on Earth, the "space seeds" will be planted in Sydney's Royal Botanical Gardens, Mount Tomah Botanic Garden in the Blue Mountains, and Mount Annan Botanic Garden near Camden in Sydney's south-west."

Perhaps the SYDNEY GC can keep an eye out for these special irradiated plants in the near future???

i'm curious.
what sort of effect will the financial crisis have on australia in the middle to long term?
Are we likely to se the dollar slide even further against the USD? or the opposite?
I appreciate that its a global issue, but does being small and kinda out of the way insulate us at all??

The financial crisis in the mid to long term will be ugly. We will become de-industrialised, as every possible job heads to China, etc. Real Estate will plummet to around prices of 10 years ago. Most banks will need Govt bailouts (really, just look at the USA today & we are around 2 years behind). Our Social Security will be shown up as a ponzi scheme (fraudulent scheme where money paid out is not from profits, but from contributions of new investors). I think things will get ugly very fast if there are more terrorist attacks anywhere in the world.

Hi all,

don't know how many of you have kids but I've just been to the cinema today and seen the shorts for this new movie - are they foreshadowing or just indocrinating our kids?

It's called 'monsters vs aliens' and it's release date is 27 March 2009.

Anyways make of it what you will but here's the link to the official trailer:
http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=YtdrGikcihA

While it's kind of funny and they do get some laughs at the expense of alphabet agencies I'm wondering what subliminals are potentially locked in and what the underlying current of the entire movie will be like.....

Blessings,

Vesta.

Hello all and Happy New Year. We are planning a Ground Crew Meeting possibly in Canberra at the end of January the 31st. For now we are trying to get numbers who are interested in coming. I have a couple of ideas. Firstly, I will drive down myself and have 4 spare seats to take members to Canberra, or If we have enough numbers, i might be able to dry hire/borrow a vehicle from work to take all of us down there. (If you don't know, i am a coach driver) Please register your interest as soon as possible with me. Either PM me or just add your name on this post. I will also send an email to those on the small data base we have from previous meetings.

We have some new subjects to discuss.

I would just like to say hello to everyone here.
I have just joined this site after weeks of research, and looking for somewhere to talk to people from Australia who have similar beliefs.
I am looking to meet and also to talk to other people to share ideas, talk and help each other.
I am not sure what to write here at the moment but regardless a huge hello to everyone I look forward to having the chance to get to know you all.

Welcome aboard Chantellealyce. There's some pretty cool and switched on people here in the Oz forum. As Henner's mentioned, get involved in a state Ground Crew where ever you're from and connect with the likeminded.
I'm yet to meet a weirdo amongst them at this point in time , but true, it's been all good since I first got involved in this forum.
There's some absolute gems of information and wisdom posted by members here.
You cant help but to learn more about yourself and whats 'really going on' in this world ..universe.
