Hi Orion, I am a construction business owner and this is exactly what will happen. I put in on average 70 hours a week to make sure my 11 employees get a paycheck, that's 7k a week going out. I take care of my employees as well. They have medical insurance, profit sharing, vacation and a yearly bonus. People don't realize that companies get double taxed. For example if Bob the plumber makes $500 this week, not only does he pay taxes on that but I have to match his tax pay out to the government. To top things off, I have to bid on jobs to compete against companies that illiegally hire illegals, pay them small wages and undercut everyone. At the end of the year, my mearly 6% company profit is then taxed. I only make 50% more than my employees and see this as only fair. Should I be penalized for working hard, worrying day to day to keep my employees a paycheck? If so, whats the point of owning a business?
