Judykott, you touched on something that's HUGE. The polarity of it all.
You can't have good without evil. You can't have wrong without right. There are necessary opposites that illustrate the beauty (and tragedy) of this experience.

But you can't have a tug of war without the rope. Hmmmm.....
There's one to think about for a while. Could there be any more duality, polarity if we removed the contructs by which the ropes have been defined?
