I have had the fortune to come across and acquire a copy of the book “Inside the Space Ships”, written by George Adamski, published in 1955, a second book after his first book “Flying Saucers Have Landed”. Desmond Leslie was a co-author of his first book. George Adamski’s publications and photos pre-date another well known earlier “experiencer”, that of Billy Meier, who began his “official” contacts in 1975.
George made personal contact with a man from another world in 1952, and he says he was invited on to a space craft in 1953. What struck me as remarkable is George Adamski’s description of the interior rooms for the other world/alien navigator’s, like our astronauts’ confined chambers. 1955 was a long time ago, fifty years ago. There were no computers back then. Televisions were black and white, as color TV’s didn’t come out to the public until the late fifties. The number of color television sets sold in the U.S. did not exceed black and white sales until 1972. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_television) I remember learning my first circuit board programming in the early 70’s, then dumb terminals, then microcomputers with monitors in the 80’s. It was thirty years after George wrote this book, that any graphical user interface (GUI) for integrated computer (PC) operating systems came out. George’s descriptions remind me of how those who wrote our Biblical scriptures couldn’t understand or describe aircraft or perhaps UFO’s, and used words they spoke at the time to try to describe unknown objects. When I read George’s book, it struck me of his difficulty of understanding what likely were highly advanced computerized color monitors, computerized devices and interactive animated software capabilities that we certainly understand today. Here is directly from his book: Pg. 49 (Inside a Venusian Scout Ship). “I turned my attention to the graphs and charts that covered the walls for about three feet on either side of the door that I could not see, and which stretched from floor to ceiling. They were fascinating, entirely different from anything I had seen on Earth, and I tried to guess their purposes. There were no needles or dials, but flashes of changing colors and intensities. Some of these were like colored lines moving across the face of a particular chart. Some moved up and down, others criss-cross, while still others took the forms of different geometric figures. The meanings and functions were not explained to me, and I doubt if I could have understood it all, but I noticed that all three of my companions were alert to the changes taking place. I received the impression that the instruments indicated, among other things, direction of travel, the approach of any other object, as well as atmospheric or space conditions. Pg. 61. In his chapter on the Venusian Mother Ship, he says “There were also several pieces of machinery in this control room, none of which, so far as I could see, had any moving parts. I would have liked to stop in this room for closer observation of all these graphs, charts, colors, machinery and instruments, and to have been permitted to ask questions concerning their operation, but this privilege was not granted.” The person who wrote the forward to this book, Desmond Leslie, says in the forward “All three men, Adamski, Bethurum and Fry, claim that their experiences are concrete and physical, having nothing to do with the psychic realm. They are realistic in their conversation, pointing out that, as far as they can see, they merely happened to be present when members of a more advanced civilization paid us a visit – nothing more… No doubt the natives who reported the jungle helicopter landing suffered also from disbelievers and the superstitious alike.” Here are the pictures from the back of his book cover; pictures he took through a six-inch telescope. George lived in Palomar, California. ![]() Last edited by KathyT; 02-16-2009 at 11:27 PM. |
