Its interesting how the paradigms at play in the world are turning public opinion against carbon. Carbon emmissions (used to be called "soot"), carbon taxes, etc.

The truth is that sustainable economies and planet stewardship go hand in hand if carbon based industries are sought. Carbon is renewable.
So, carbon food (ie. bioproducts) carbon composites for construction of goods (kevlar, graphite, etc.), activated carbon for water filtration, carbon for fuel (bio mass and charcoal).

Heck, you could build a whole sustainable society around carbon based goods....

But the powers to be steer us away from thinking about carbon, making us value hydro-carbon...

Makes a person go Hmmmmmmmmm....
