If anyone is looking for a unique place to find one-of-a-kind gifts from all over the world give Novica.com a look.
The wonderful thing is the artisan receives the money and is a way for tribes and people from other lands who may have a poorer economy to make a living. My daughter and I just received our beautifully embroidered cotton bags from Thailand. We received individual cards from the artists, Teerapat Suwan and Jakkarin Yakhet, and a sweet photo of two Thai children in their native dress thanking us for the purchase as well. They came gift wrapped with the most unusual paper I have ever seen. It is combination paper/organic materials and even though it is white had a few leaves within the paper. I am saving it to wrap a special gift in the future. Here is their mission statement: We want to give artists and artisans around the world a global platform to express their true artistic talents and to spur their creativity. And, we want to provide you with access to unique, hard-to-find items at great values that only the Internet infrastructure can allow. At the deepest essence of our philosophy, we want to create a bridge between you and the many talented artisans across the globe. We want you to know about who you're buying from. We want you to feel that attachment to the product and to the hands that created it. In the spirit of the Internet, let us bring you together. NOVICA. The World is Your Market. Love & Light |
