Depopulation-and Movies

Hi all!,

When it comes to depopulation do you think the movies that Hollywood comes out with reflect that in any way? For instance like I AM LEGEND etc?

The reason for the thread is - In December of this year there remaking a movie from the 50's (which I've never seen) called The Day the Earth Stood Still and after watching the trailer it seems like an alien race comes to earth and wipes out humanity because if we die the earth lives....and if the earth dies we die...

and from what I've researched we're in a similar situation with the environment that she is in dyer need of help from us and anyone that can help. And this may be a main reason for some of the alien presents here is to make sure that we don't "destroy" the earth.

Any thoughts?
