Network Outage?

Most of the forum users dropped out a short time ago.

This was not an issue with the forum as I, and a few others, were unaffected. I suspect it was some sort of major network outage.

If you were affected your location may help reveal where the fault was.

Thanks Gareth. I had wondered what happened when I stopped by and only saw 16 members on line.

Just before you posted this, I dropped off.

I have been trying to fix Instant Messenger for almost a week!

Thank You Micro$not for your usual downdgrade efforts.

This last attempt required a reboot. As per usual, it didn't work.
Neither does Instant Messenger.
Also per usual, Micro$not claims it's nothing they did.

My office went out sometime between last night at 6pm and this morning when some of my reps called me wondering why they couldn't log online... IT claims that all was fine on their end and that our office cables must've gone bad????????

Mind you they can see the servers but when I asked them why do they think suddenly the cables in my office went bad overnight or my switchs they had no answer other than to replace them??????? And after much debate with the very knowledgeable and experienced IT department for many other office buildings that it is only my office with the issue and the transmissions to the wall plug are just fine... OK then, what is my IP address? Hmmmm they pondered, can't seem to find the right one... OK how many other office buildings are not working??? Everyone else is just fine you say??? But suddenly just my office computers overnight now have wrong IP's???? OK take another look then at other office IP's and see..... Ohhhhhh wait three other office buildings are screwed up, Ohhh now another office is down in another city...

I bet you could turn off a whole credit system this way over a period of time and probably not see it.... let's see how far the little bug goes before October 27th????

Did this bring down the norwegian lottery commission? :P
They reported a system malfunction over the weekend, phone's not been standing still.

I had an odd issue with my dsl line a few days ago, with my ISP not quite getting why DHCP did not give me an IP. Everything showed green and A-OK on their side.

And then you have my little ban-issue on godlikeproductions....finally a response from them and they do not know why I'm not getting access. lol
