How long did it take you to eat it?

Do you think it would have helped you in a disaster?

A..

burgundia is right, wait a few days ... see if it feels the same ...
i am feeling the energy of this year, thus far, to swing from end of pendulum to waaaaayy over to the other end ...
allow and go with the flow ... not to resist it ... it is locating and raising more of your truth ...
you do care about the world ... soon you will know just how much ...
let it flow ...

Is this about feeling blue or eating your food stores. I can comment about both.

Regarding feeling blue. I was bummed after reading the
Jake Simpson article. What chance does one have when you are up against the all seeing eye of Sauron? Back into time, reads your thoughts, extra dimensional? PLEEZ. Yeah, I was bummed, then I got ******. Read THIS sauron! Yeah, what do you think about THAT. We won't try to hide it. We'll wear it loud and proud; and the horse you rode to town on too. WE are COMING for you. Go ahead put us on a list....

Regarding eating your long term food stores. We are also. It is a rainy day NOW. We mix it up and mix it in.
Store what you eat and eat what you store. Then use the money you save to buy wisely. We had a very short grocery list this month. But we spent our normal amount.
We spent it on freezer meat. Five christmas turkeys and a ham. That will carry us through the summer of hell into fall. Go ahead and eat, just remember to replace.

Steve Shenk at Efoods direct has been seeing this for some time. Folks used to buy the food to put away. Today they are buying the food to eat because it is
CHEAPER than what you can get at the grocery.
You aren't alone, believe me. Remember that in the
Irish potato famine there was never a shortage of food.
People starved to death because there was a
shortage of food that they could afford to buy
Give thanks and rejoice that you were farsighted enough
to put something back. Eat it, then replace it.

I've got plenty no caste, I'll share! See I've divided mine into 3 parts, one part has four legs and walks around in the fields and woods, another part has feathers and likes to fly around, and the last part swims in all the lakes and streams. Then come spring and summer we'll have veggies and berries.

LOL!, no but when starving I'll adjust my morals. If the animals were starving and looking for food they wouldn't think twice about having a human buffet! I know we're supposed to be the intelligent ones but starvation reverses everything. Can't live on pine trees alone! Oh and I should add that I do really love all animals and haven't hunted in 35 years.

I just spooked a herd of deer out of my old pig pen, and last week our resident cougar came calling. He visits once or twice a year hoping for a chicken dinner. The electric fence thwarts his desire (so far he hasn't jumped). Pity my new neighbors weren't home. His two screams from my back pasture in a minute would have been right under their bedroom window...

Here's a pic of a couple fox in my front yard. I throw peanuts out for the squirrels, but the fox usually help themselves.

I have a gift for you Dan. All you need is flour, water, yeast, salt and a hot oven. You will never starve if you have this.

3 c flour
1 1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon instant yeast

mix

add 1/1/2 cup water

Mix again and let sit for 19 hours. Pour out onto flour surface, pat and fold into quarters, let rise another hour or two.

Preheat over with casserole dish and lid in oven to 500 degrees. Pour batter into casserole dish, cover with lid and bake for 20 to 30 minutes. Take lid off and bake for another 10 minutes. It's delicious!

I used nothing in the dish I baked the bread in. No oil or butter. It didn't stick and came out easily.

Here is the video link: http://video.nytimes.com/video/2006/...ead-bread.html

You can make this with different types of flour, wheat, rye, etc and put goodies in it.. garlic, nuts, raisins, cinnamon. However, I love to have a fresh baked slice for breakfast and dip it in my coffee. You can always put peanut butter and jelly on it for any meal and if you have eggs make french toast with cinnamon.

I also keep canned salmon and tuna on hand to make a spread (fish, mayo, sweet pickle relish, chopped onion, chopped celery).

Enjoy

You're a man after my own heart Dan. I was eyeing that beer recipe and thinking that would be fun to experiment with next.

By the way.. if one doesn't have bread, if you have eggs and spinach you can make a batter with that and make thin pancakes to roll up a spread in or use it to hold meat. Since we have chickens that works out for fresh eggs and keep chopped spinach in the freezer.

It's OK No Caste....I've been eating my "disaster food" since 1999, when I first stocked up for Y2K....

It has been cyclical for me since then. I went for a year not caring and stocked up again...what I have noticed in the last 8 years though is that the cycles (of not caring) get shorter and shorter until it is like Burgundia says...a few days.

Because of the snow here my stores are low but I'll refill 'em..... and as Dan says, the spring and summer are coming. I've got my heirloom seeds and seeds from last crop.

Just think of it as rotating your stores!

If you're still feeling like you don't care by the end of the week let us know!

rhythm, I assumed the thread was no caste showing a little comedy, just minutes before this he posted a couple funny posts in The Flying Car thread. If I'm wrong then I owe no caste an apology.
