Default Please don't go...take a break instead !

Feeling tired? Going to bed later than planned?

Meant to put the dinner on an hour ago, but WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?

You must be in Avalon land

Actually, I was going to start a thread, mirroring my own growing addiction to logging in daily, to catch up with the Arthurian landscape, but I thought instead, with having so many friends and nice faces galloping out of court and over the hills and into the distance it got me thinking about all the free time they're going to have now. Maybe they're on to something ?!

So I'm thinking, instead of getting despondent or goo-eyed in front of your monitor, why not take a break and go and do something you love doing, right now? ... and come back later and tell us about it. (Ok.. I see a major hole in my logic...whatever you do is probably seriously off topic for Avalon - unless you're building a hydroponics plant - but maybe finding a balance between being online and offline is not so silly as it sounds.)

Anyone else having trouble finding the off switch on their PC lately? It used to be (for me) because we had to be 'up' on the impending doom. Now that the doom seems to be a little further away, Avalon to me seems currently more about soap than hope.

So my question to you, is:

What else could you be doing with all the extra hours that you are currently spending here?

You know we've got plenty of time yet, till the Summer of Hell

So I'd love to hear your thoughts...

So... take your hands from the keyboard, or the pointer from the scroll bar...and move it to the start icon...click on shutdown...c'mon...you can do it....

there.. the computer's off.

I'm going to go read a book and have a nice cup of tea ! Who-hoo !

See, I hope not. That is why the establishment survives. You can't be accepting society or you lose. Only awareness wins. Only wanting to evolve is relevant. Your home is in crisis it's not a holiday. This is not entertainment it's real.

Lovely thread

It is good to feed the soul when one is feeling drained or overwhelmed.

It is your body's way of telling you something.

Thank you for bringing all our attention to this very important aspect...

I think it is a good idea because I've got a little addicted to this forum. Maybe we all need a break.

I've noticed a trend on several forums lately that all are going through growing pains from fear and newly awakened members. It is very hard to move past all these changes coming at us so fast. Forums are living organisms because of the emotions and energy poured into them by their members. Instead of worrying about what is yet to be it would serve everyone more to conserve their energy and work on their own growth. I've never seen worry solve any problem.

This is so true.

Hey !

It's me, checking in. Thanks for the replies to the thread and your points of view.

It seems in the intervening hours, where I read my book, had a glass of wine...which I rarely do quietly in the evenings, and then watched Point Break (surf's up Dude!) yet another member has been banned. Sorry to see you go DragonBreath. Thanks for posting on my thread. I hope you'll come back after a break

Of course, these people aren't dying nor (I hope, but I couldn't prove it) is FEMA knocking on their doors and carting them off one by one or eventually it will just be the cat and the goldfish left at Avalon - (now that would be an interesting plotline development)

So we shouldn't mourn their passing as fallen comrades...but I am sad to see them go.

Yes, I'm one of those foolish people who has a secret nasty hope that people one day might just get along with one another. Not like each other necessarily, wooo, nooooo... but you know, just say pass the salt please.

So, yeah... I've tuned into Avalon this past month to, you know, 'help out' because I think anything that gets people talking and thinking about their lives and their relationships to total strangers (which is the rest of the planet btw!) is no bad thing.

If some one puts me in the ground (verbally or otherwise) for that alarming tendency I have to want people to get along. well, a leopard can't change it's spots. I'm stuck, that's the way I am. don't matter if those ain't your spots, you can't change yours neither!

So I'm not going to tell you this is right or that is. I'm not going to give you links to UNMISSABLE EVIDENCE OF MICE ON MARS. I can not give you any facts, all I can give you is my opinion.

(interestingly, my first ever thread posted started off with 'I love this site'. it was a positive affirmation and I meant it...but no one read the thread. Too boring of course What I needed was capital letters or something you could NOT afford NOT to read! Isn't that just like the papers? Of course bad news sells, so why not negative news or drama on a forum?? that's got to be heaps better than 'I think we're all one and should drink camomile tea'. I can tell you from my lilmited experience of this forum, that won't get you a hundred views !)

It's my opinion that there is a lot of stuff we can do nothing about, and a lot of stuff that we can do a lot about.

Can you fix that dripping tap ? You betcha. Can you be nice to someone? You betcha. can you be horrid? Of course.

Can you say what's going to happen on a given date in the future? Well, why not have a shot, use your intuition, channel something, it might work. I'd be interested, and if the prediction came true I'd be even more interested.

But there's little I can do to control the outcome of those events. there is much I can do when communicating with other people.

Time on this earth is short and precious. I hope when our time is over and we look back, we will think that we used our time as best as we could.

I for one, will be glad I saw Point Break tonight (and I never even realised that was Patrick Swayzee till the end of the movie!).

peace n love

K

Awesome dudes !!
