Default Dreams with strange people and places

I don't know what to classify this as but I have often had strange dreams with people in them that I do not even know! Sometimes, they even take place in strange places, possibly even worlds that I don't recognize. This usually only happens when I am in a deep sleep and it's gotten to a point where I can remember most of the dreams but I cannot explain them.

Just thought I'd point this out. I took a course called "Psychology of Dreams" a few years ago and that's how I got introduced to meditation. Haven't meditated in quite a while though.

I must add that I'm disappointed that no one has come forward to try and help me to understand this.

I understand though. I made a bad first impression and I'm paying for it. No problem.

I must also add that I feel I am in a transitional phase in my life where I am starting to wake up and become more alert of things.

If anyone can still guide me, I'd appreciate it.

sorry but this is the first time I have seen this post.

A question you must ask before trying to understand the dream is. "what emotion does this give you?"
are you scared, happy, sad?
how does being in these strange lands make you feel?

with that information it will help understand the dream.

I will try and help you understand, but I also don't spend every hour at the computer either, so I will search for your reply.

I only feel confusion and just a tiny bit of fear but otherwise, in the dream, I tend to check out my surroundings. I can say that I do get the feeling that the world is moving on without my presence.

I had a dream yesterday that wasn't quite lucid but it involved slave labor and other stuff, such as a weird (almost eclectric) food menu. I think that dream was more of me taking concepts that I have read about and just dreaming of a scenario. It's like taking random words/events and creating a story with them.

I cannot sleep now as I noticed flickering lights in my apt earlier and I shut off the circuits to where I noticed this out of fear of a short or something. That explains why I'm still awake and highly alert.

without knowing anything about you, except that you are a fellow Pink Floyd fan.

I would say that you are just becoming over whelmed by all the information coming at you from all directions,
the world you know somehow looks the same, yet the people just go along without a second thought.
Probably a feeling of helplessness, even though you may hold some answers, no one will listen.

I think the flickering light in my apt is more of an electrical issue and all I really have to say is that it's keeping me awake in a bit of fear. I'm not sure that it has a greater meaning.

Interesting though about your experience. Do you live near an airport, in regards to the red lights? I do and the red lights I usually see are air traffic control lights.

I have seen stuff in the sky but I tend to mostly associate it with stars. I know that if I actually saw an UFO, it might be similar to the time I saw a ghost when I got very cold all of a sudden and had a feeling of panic. If I were to see an actual UFO, I know I'd probably get that feeling.

Well to be fair, I often see things that make me do a double take. I think we all do. We just do not understand what they are and it's important that we recognize this.

It does not mean that you are losing your mind. I think it means that you are becoming more ALERT to your surroundings, which means that you may notice more things that you wouldn't have noticed if you weren't so alert. I don't see this as a bad thing at all.

Look at it this way. People tend to live their lives in a mundane way where they do not notice even the oddest things in life. When they start to see things that they have never noticed before, it's a sign that their minds are opening up to where they can see anomalies in everyday life. Normally, I'd dismiss the flickering lights as nothing but somehow my mind says otherwise and that's why I was prompted to disconnect electrical devices and shut off electrical circuits. I am afraid of an electrical short but the idea that my mind can catch it before it becomes something more serious is a good thing.

Now, if we apply this to everyday life, the more we notice things out of the ordinary, the better. If we see something for example and check back later and it's changed, our minds will catch it faster and we'll ask "whoa, what was that? why is that out of place?"

I'm having a hard time describing myself but since I am a night owl, third shift kind of person, it helps to try and explain where I'm coming from.

we should be very careful about jumping at shadows.
If you look for something you will always find it.

If you are feeling paranoid and think you are being watched, you will notice more people looking at you, and they will look longer because you make eye contact, nothing more.
If you listen for bumps in the night, you will always here them, no matter how harmless they may be.
My wife comes from Scotland and moving to Australia was a bit of a shock to her system.
Lying in bed she heard a scratching sound amd was convinced someone was trying to break in, so of course she wakes me.
I tell her it's just a beetle, but of course I have to get out of bed and open the door and grab the beetle to prove it.
