I do not have a link in English.
It is a tribe living on the border between Brazil and venezuela, deep in the jungle. Within the last two weeks, seven memebers of the tribe have died. according to the report, about 1000 yanomami Indians got sick with the flu. it is A/H1N1. And how did the virus get there, right? ![]() Last edited by burgundia; 11-04-2009 at 08:04 PM. |

Swine flu reaches Yanomami Indians in the Amazon CARACAS, Venezuela -Swine flu has appeared among Venezuela's Yanomami Indians, one of the largest isolated indigenous groups in the Amazon, and a doctor said Wednesday that the virus is suspected in seven deaths, including six infants. The deaths happened in forest villages near Venezuela's border with Brazil over the past 2 1/2 weeks, said Raidan Bernade, a Venezuelan doctor on a team sent to contain the outbreak and treat the ill. Bernade told The Associated Press that doctors confirmed one of those who died had swine flu — a 35-year-old Yanomami woman who doctors believe was pregnant. read full article here: http://news.aol.com/article/swine-fl...-in-the/503187 Love Always mudra |
