I'm curious if anyone else is suffering from this? I mentioned it to my doctor today during a physical and he initially looked fearful (?????), then shocked when I discussed what I had narrowed it down to (medication I'm taking or our local water).
After pressing him, he admitted that the local water treatment plant has been increasing the amount of chloramine as a disinfectant and many of his patients have been mentioning this side effect. I normally drink bottled water and have a filtration system on my tap (which it seems is now outdated), but this chemical is also used in many bottled waters. I have included a link with basic information but would be very interested to know if any members have more information or have experienced this side effect with their local water supplies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chloramine Last edited by sleepingnomore; 06-17-2009 at 04:42 PM. |

The is some good water filter information on my thread which is stickied. The tap is not your friend, unless the filter is a good one
![]() I thought it was going to be about mercury which really shouldn't be in your mouth either ![]() Last edited by Connecting with Sauce; 06-17-2009 at 04:18 PM. |

No I don't imagine I'd want Mercury in my mouth...lol. I know I need new filters and have been checking them out on line. There are special ones for this particular additive, but the problem is beyond tap and bottled water. The chemical is in the local milk, cheese, restaurant products. Even taking a bath with water laced with it is potentially harmful.
Thank you for the filter information, I will check it out. ![]() |

Kind of funny since the local university is encouraging students to drink tap water over bottled water. I don't know what the hell they're thinking, but Vermont has some of the dirtiest water I've ever tasted/seen in my life. It's not the case in every town/city but it's close.

HJ,
I remember a time when it wasn't like this. Maybe chemtrails has a lot to do with it too. I notice more of them everyday. SNM |

You can't even eat much fish caught from the waters around here. Many folks don't realize what kind of effect this has on the native population. |

A lot of UFO contactees complain of that taste. I have no idea if that's even applicable, but I thought I'd throw it out there just the same.
![]() I wonder if the amount of plastic leaching into our bottled water is just as dangerous. On the molecular level, I have to wonder how powerful my water filter really is. Living in Vancouver, BC we are blessed with an abundance of fresh water. When I lived in New Orleans, NO WAY would I ever drink the stuff. I have not been privy to a metalic taste from the water here. But I am certain that the acid rain is leaching into the water table and through my faucet by proxy. We are unfortunately on a weather belt that blows here from industrial China. Peace of Mind, Wormhole |

Interesting, I don't remember ever hearing about this. Do you have any links on this experience? not sure if its related anyhow... but ever since i was about 16 or 17 and got hit by lightning, i taste metal whenever its going to storm. lol almost like licking a 9 volt battery, just very weak. I know exactly what you are describing. I've never been struck by lightening but growing up I had to be out playing in lightning storms and I've also had that same "battery licking" (yes we all did it as kids...admit it! ![]() When I was trying to detemine what could be causing it I never considered either of these scenarios, thank you both for giving me something to think about. ![]() Last edited by sleepingnomore; 06-19-2009 at 06:39 AM. |

That is always a possibility. I know they have been suspected in neurological disorders.
