Free Will, each person is on a path of their own choosing. Already planned and adhered too.
They cannot be forced to one ideal or another that is not on their present path. You cannot force a Muslim to eat pork, but is he bad just because of that. Each person’s path is right for that person at that time. When the time is right they will change freely. All people are sleepers with alarm clocks set to go off at different times. You cannot force that alarm without damaging the mechanism. Change is a gradual thing that, with most, doesn't happen overnight. Many can see the light and follow it. Many are blinded by the light and cannot see beyond their own unique path. Many more cannot see the light at all. For those freshly awakened to the light, they need time for the fire to kindle. Fed gently and coaxed until a hold is taken, if you put too much fuel on to begin with and you smother that spark, which then takes longer to reignite if at all. We are all trees, different woods burn at different rates, some burn fiercely and very bright, others smolder for a long time before igniting. But all have to be in the right conditions, right environment before the flame burns pure. If you can gain one with a small spark, it is better than ten with no spark. We all have our faults and the higher up the ladder the more they show. It is a gradual process, to wean to the new from the old, old habits die hard. We all too easily cast caution to the wind, for when darkness rears its ugly head. Over reaction often achieves more than the initial intention, reaction... to be too wise after the event. How many times after a brush with the darkness is one, ten times more protective, blowing up the slightest thing, out of proportion. We have to accept that we are all different, we are all individual, and we are all different petals on the same flower. We all have our own purpose and skill. Just because one is different from another, we do not shun them. Love thy neighbor and realize they have a free will, accept that they are on their path, which at their stage could be equivalent or higher than that point on your path that you presently hold. Maybe what they do is yet to come to you. All avenues have to be explored for the truth. No stone left unturned, no door left unopenned, for nothing is new under the sun. Old ways often come back to replace new. We have to learn to live and let live. Our inner light is enough to advance those who are ready and are set before us. Remember on small candles light can dispel the darkness from a large room. Be that Light. |
