Default Army charity hoards millions

FORT BLISS, Texas – As soldiers stream home from Iraq and Afghanistan, the biggest charity inside the U.S. military has been stockpiling tens of millions of dollars meant to help put returning fighters back on their feet, an Associated Press investigation shows.
Between 2003 and 2007 — as many military families dealt with long war deployments and increased numbers of home foreclosures — Army Emergency Relief grew into a $345 million behemoth. During those years, the charity packed away $117 million into its own reserves while spending just $64 million on direct aid, according to an AP analysis of its tax records.
Tax-exempt and legally separate from the military, AER projects a facade of independence but really operates under close Army control. The massive nonprofit — funded predominantly by troops — allows superiors to squeeze soldiers for contributions; forces struggling soldiers to repay loans — sometimes delaying transfers and promotions; and too often violates its own rules by rewarding donors, such as giving free passes from physical training, the AP found.

This is an outrage! With the state of the economy now, soldiers and their families could use this money to ensure that they can still pay their bills, etc.

Most charities are just a scam, think twice before you put money in the tin

Yeah that's the problem with donating to charity nowadays. Sometimes, you can get fooled as I'm sure that almost anyone can start a charity and collect money without actually being a charity.

You need look no further than 9-11 when those charities received millions and it took forever to reach the people that really needed it or in some cases they didn`t get a dime

For the big charities you are looking at about 30% of what you donate actually reaching those you are giving it to. The other 70% goes in "administration costs", ie into the pockets of those running the charities.

Just another Illuminati money making machine that runs on the compassion you have that they can never feel.

The above is a link to the Amnesty International website. Look at the amnesty logo at the top first- what does it remind you of? And then take a look at the logo for the FRSB (Fund Raising Standards Board) on the right of the page. Think 3D and what does that one remind you of?

It's right in our faces but most people can't see it. I picked amnesty at random.
