Hubble tosses out clearer pictures from the deepest edges of space. The PTB have satellites that can read a newspaper in your lap, yet we still can't seem to be able to have pics of the moon that looks like they were taken with a toy camera. Just curious thoughts.

Well, I do agree about that, to answer your question, there is actually Lunar imagery approximately equivalent to the resolutions provided by HiRISE.

There are still only a limited number of images, but that's because the mission just started around June, and the fact that NASA (of course) like to keep a big handful of the goodies to themselves. But its a good start, they're updating every few days with new images.
