I guess that's true, but by the time "ultimately" comes around it may be far too late.

I'm getting a lot better at spotting soulless psychopaths though after studying the literature for the past couple of years, then applying it in observation of people that I deal with. Once one gets the concept that there really are people with no conscience or morals, and that they actually derive pleasure from causing others pain, and that every thing they do is manipulative, once one "gets" that concept, a lot of other things become clear.
