Somethings always happen on Feb 11 in Iran - it's the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, when Iran kicked out the Shah (who was backed by you-know-whos). There are parades, celebrations, propaganda like most countries on inception of nation days, protests, and so on.
WIKI: The royal regime collapsed shortly after on February 11 when guerrillas and rebel troops overwhelmed troops loyal to the Shah in armed street fighting. Iran voted by national referendum to become an Islamic Republic on April 1, 1979,[10] and to approve a new theocratic constitution whereby Khomeini became Supreme Leader of the country, in December 1979.
Then, IRAN CONTRA. The Iran–Contra affair (Persian: ماجرای مک*فارلین, Spanish: caso Irán-contras) was a political scandal in the United States which came to light in November 1986, during the Reagan administration, in which senior US figures agreed to facilitate the sale of arms to Iran, the subject of an arms embargo, to secure the release of hostages and to fund Nicaraguan contras.
The old crew still wants their
widdle Iwan back. They can bushwhack all they want about tunnels, WMD, and so on.
