This is something I've been researching for quite a while now, and I've exchanged information with other researchers and regression therapists as well.

Nutshell version: most are benevolent. (Between 75 tp 80%).
The rest are mainly self-serving, which does not necessarily make them malevolent. Some, though, could be considered a threat but that's a small minority.
It's also important not to generalize:
- Most Greys are self-serving, but some are benevolent, while some are malicious.
- Most Reptilians are self-serving, but some are benevolent as well.
- Many human looking aliens are benevolent, but some are not.
Add to that that some species only 'appear' like humans...
