I grew up in S. Cal and the "big one" has been predicted ever since I can remember, ever since the 1970 quake. It does not take a rocket scientist to understand this, as the SA fault will shift. This prediction has been an every year thing for 2/3 of my life. One day it will come, and it will cause big damage - that is a given. It is nice to forecast it out there a year or two so that everyone can forget your prediction when it doesn't happen on that date. This year... Next year... and so on. My advise is to get the heck out of So-Cal, like I did, because you don't want to be there when it hits. It's just a matter of time, and now "could" be the time, we just don't know.
