From my understanding after reading the eagledisobey forum. Dan discovered a date that was decoded from a device related to ETs. This date was handed down as a crucial point in human history where a calamity of some kind altered or will alter the fate of Humans on Earth. However, Dan is saying that this event has been avoided. We have altered our timeline to prevent this catastrophe.
