there are many 'medicine wheels of varying sizes, in alberta.
they are very 'high' places. i did a pilgrimage to one a few years ago.
it was also physically high, atop the highest hill in the area, with a view for miles around.
meditation there taught me that it was a place of celebration of the love between earth and sky.
the guardian spirit of the place was a bison, who told be to remember the loss of culture and the murder of all the buffalo people.
i found sage growing there, so i asked for some to make a smudge stick. i left tobacco and sweet grass as an offering.

i'd certainly be up to a field trip/pilgrimage to the site.
if we could work out location and time, i would try. i'm quite a way north though.
