As far as Mel's subcrisption fee, I don't really see it as 'paying for information', rather paying for a service. I mean pretty much all the stuff that's covered is out there in some media form, and you could gather it yourself if you wanted to take the time, or you could pay a guy like mel a bit to bring it to you (that's not say you shouldn't scrutinize of course). It's a convenience kinda thing the way I see it.
