Religious groups reactions will be intresting yes. I think they will try and reconcile their beliefs and an alien presence. Rework the history books if you will to incorporate the new world
Think also though, those whos' beliefs are we evolved from monkeys
. They are going to have to come to terms with the possibility that we are just the PRESENT race on the planet and that there were others before us. Other civilisations that were just as advanced.
