The Sun's energy as measured by the SOHO ( solar and heliospheric observatory) has been about the same, however Solar Cycle 24 began in January, 2008, and a month ago the Sunspots disappeared. We were supposed to get into a greater year of Sunspots with Cycle 24.
Jupiter, Mars and Venus are brighter than ever. I don't know what the real cause is.
