I used ubuntu on my eee pc and it is wonderful. I wouldn't recommend it if you are into music or video production since most of the sound cards don't have drivers supporting this system yet. There is a project called alsa project were some people were working on it I got sick of waiting and scrapped my ideas to switch to ubuntu on my work computer.

For regular office work this OS is awesome. Very stable and virus free.
