If China becomes the world's new "owner", I would suggest that we all start to accustom ourselves to eating rice in all its different guises. I recall stories of prisoners of the Japanese during WWII being fed rice day after day. As their internal plumbing wasn't used to endless consumption of rice, their bodies started to deteriorate while the Japanese appeared to thrive.
That the Chinese 'powers that be' are contemplating this scenario is borne out by the reported shortage of rice on supermarket shelves
