I'm not sure I agree with the tone of your post. I agree that being overweight, suffering the resultant health problems, and having great difficulty if the SHTF should be viewed as a personal choice, and the overweight should own their mistakes.

With that being said, there are external factors that come into play, unrestrained and manipulative advertising, the addition of addictive chemical compounds, etc. have had their impact.

Ridicule is not what motivates people to change, and has no place on this thread.
