I think the safest approach is to let the universe work for you. By using the manifesting techniques written about elsewhere, you are allowing the universe to do the work and bring those souls who are best suited together to get things started.
This forum is probably one of the tools in the universes kit bag, but I bet there are many others.
However, if you insist on paddling your own canoe on the river of time, and want to actively search out people for your communities, then may I suggest looking for people that dont use the "I" word a lot. (Doh, I just disqualified myself

"We" and "our" are the language that is necessary here.
Our job is to trust eachother. Each of us will contribute according to our abilities for the greater good of the group/tribe/community - this will require Love, for most of us I guess this is as likely as not meaning loving as we have never loved before.
Ego is certainly going need demotion in this new paradigm.
