What use is "surviving" if one is depressed? As some yoga teacher said once: "I don't care about the world, I have a fly in my eye." You have got to take care of first things first. If armageddon came (which it won't) it would still be better to have a moment of clarity than to flee around totally lost and depressed. First you have to taste clarity and then you can move in that direction. Yoga can definitely do that for you.
