Here's an interesting link on the
'Tarot of Marseilles', (one of) the oldest set of Tarot cards in the world. As you mentioned, they're not meant for fortunetelling, "that's only for conmen" (dixit Jodorowsky).
Alejandro Jodorowsky is commenting on these Tarot cards and sees them as a union, one big mandala. If you focus on its parts (by picking an individual card), you can gain more insight in this stage. With clear intentions and focus it can then help you manifest your reality in this particular stage.
