I believe this statement to be correct. If you want to find the original teachings of Jesus its in the Gospel of Thomas:

" Jesus said: Be passers by" and "Jesus said: Look to the One who lives while you are living. Once you are dead, you will seek to see Him without achieving this Vision".

I think Jesus meditated a great deal: The first statement means don't get involved in the dramas of life be even minded. The second refers to finding God in meditation because if you don't find him in life you won't find him in death either because your state of consciousness is not higher enough.

100th Monkey, I'm sorry you have had such a hard time with religion - religion is a false construct and a distortion of true spirituality, used to control the masses - Marx wasn't wrong when he said religion is the opiate of the people.

I have the opposite problem to you, my whole family are atheists and although I don't regard myself as religious I am deeply spiritual. I have learnt to get along with them because I have no choice and I love them. So I keep that part of me hidden from them, it's easier that way.

I think life is just one big comedy drama
