Lets suppose we had nucleur war world wide...or if we have an Extinction Level Event...ie Pole shift as per Patrick Geryl...he's convinced that this will happen and had said on numerous occasions that the only safe place will be South Africa in the mountains (forgotton the exact location)... or perhaps a CME from the sun..something of that nature...

Soooo lets say that before the event we had mass landings here wuth the intention to rescue us... A helping hand lets say just before we were about to be wiped out...
