I remember reading somewhere that during the Olympics Putin told Bush that the war was on. I suspect this had to do with Georgia. As it was Georgia that initiated the attack and Russia that retaliated, if this stopped the US from using Georgia as a base to attack Iran, then Good.

On a more personal note I oppose war, see it as an incredible waste of the world's resources and an attack on the innocent and vulnuerable (women, children and their families).
