To stop getting lardy, people should eat breakfast - otherwise the body feels the pain really fast, and starts the chemicals going that makes the brain think its going to die of starvation, and thus makes you gorge on foods.
Then you get lardy because the body feels it should store it as fat for future emergencies and not use as much as it should even if you exercise it'll store more than normal.
Eat breakfast, and stay thin!
