Subscription?

What is this subscription business? I guess I don't "get it" because I haven't really encountered anything here worth paying for YET. Why would someone pay to participate on a forum? I am certain many enquiring minds would like to know. I have always enjoyed the resource of Project Camelot, but how is this forum supposed to be better than the free resource that is Project Camelot?

What's the pitch?

Re: Subscription?

I think it helps to think of it more as a contribution/donation so Kerry and Bill can continue their excellent work in the field.

Love & Light always

The pitch is that without funding the free resource that is Camelot cannot continue. All the info. is still free to view on Camelot + Avalon, however, if you have information you would like to contribute you have to subscibe - which is the weird thing.

But the small amount requested is well worth it IMO for the info being made available.

Peace
Regards
Iain

The people who set up Camelot/Avalon need money for more internet security software now.

Re: Subscription?

Good point, Electrafixation.
However, I think of my subscription as a contribution towards all the Camelot videos I have viewed and the info received on the forum. Even during the transition period, I feel that existing threads and new ones supply more than enough to keep me informed.

You might want to delve into archived threads to discover what Avalon is all about.

{sigh} It's about helping B&K continue their work. Any
other benefit you receive is gravy.

If that is a problem, Astro Vera is right across the street.

Re: Subscription?

Well, after reading your response to a subscripton fee, I am wondering when you will contribute something you feel is important.

I have enjoyed many articles on the forum and by others postings I am sure they have also.

So if you are bored, please share your information

Thanks

Does this not ring a bell ?? (is everybody indeed awake ?)
How can somebody post about 'not getting subscription' while subscription is activated ?
How is it possible that I am able to post here while I am not a subscriber ?

There is a flaw in the system that I emailed to Karen (the email bounced however) and PM'ing Colin was not possible
for me either ....

So although this is not my preferred route .... administrators: the Camelot forum is still not restricted.

Cheers

Ok, ok, this is why it was not the preferred route ... please people be mature.
We have chosen out of free will not to subscribe, please behave accordingly.

Cheers

Re: Subscription?

I can only reply in this thread that has the quick reply box at the bottom of it.
While I can still post here I would just like to thank Bill and Kerry for all that they have done for us. Contributing financially would not be a problem, the only problem is that with the forum being subscription based there will be less info on it.

I would gladly contribute money to Bill and Kerry's work if this wonderful forum could be open to all, because I do value everyone's opinions and contributions to this forum, with it being either financial or posting valuable information.

..because Bill & Kerry always said Camelot [this thread is in the Project Camelot section] would remain free

ONLY Avalon is subscription

Not so..

The library is close to completion (with downloadable material)

Our Researchers have been working incredibly hard collating relevant info into nice, neat packages for the benefit of subscribing members. This is just one of many things to come for subscribers..

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the explanation. I always thought this was referring to the Project Camelot website not the Project Camelot forum.
The situation is a bit strange because contacting via PM etc. is not possible. How would subscribing members know that I
am not able to read PM's if I indeed would be actively be posting here ?

I hope also that this will not lead to abuse of the PC forum.
Anyway, I have pretty good reasons not to go for paid subscription to avoid developing personal problems.
Lurking is fine with me for a while and I maybe able to contribute in another more valuable way than posting.

Cheers

Re: Subscription?

hmm strange, I have no subscription. Cannot post through Avalon but I can through Camelot.

Colin 12-17-2008 09:51 PM

Re: Subscription?

OK people I owe EVERYONE an apology

I mis-read the subscription statement regarding Project Camelot always being free. That was referring to the Project Camelot website, NOT the Project Camelot forum [which is included in the subscription along with the Project Avalon forum]

So, I'm afraid unless your a Subscriber the entire Project Avalon/Project Camelot forum structure will be READ ONLY for you.

This was my mistake, nobody else's and once again I humbly apologise for any confusion it caused

Oh, sweet that really frosts my cookie when I find out some of my email is not being delivered. That's the second one I've heard about.

However that second one did try again and did get through.

I've probably answered 150 emails the last three days - so I guess it works part of the time.

I need that bounce message - I know, I'm gonna go set up a yahoo group. I know how they work!
