It's certainly a type of vaccine, the benefits of exposure, without the consequences of the real thing. I believe like doctors, they are trying to keep the masses "healthy", it does not always produce to intended effect. It is like a giant playground this earth. There are some things underground the kids are just not ready to hear, but they must learn about, so it is presented in a digestible way. At the end of the day, the world is sheltered from the facts, but they get a bedtime story which ultimately convinces them everything will be okay. It's a love-hate relationship, can't live with or without them, it's a question of where the control resides.
