Can anyone shed some light on this? Just in case they change the map, I have taken a screen shot also.

Coordinates are:

hi, yes i can tell you what it is, its a very small island and was a former settlement on the western side of Orona, a remote atoll in the Phoenix Islands group and part of the Republic of Kiribati, acording to wikipedia, i think its a holiday destination now, if you google it there is a bit of info about it, dont think its sinister in anyway, but nice find any way,

Perhaps you already know about this. On google maps, clicking the 'more' button on the top right corner of the map it is possible to enable photos, videos and wikipedia articles about the area.

There are two wikipedia entries:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arariki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orona

I find this feature really useful :)
