An interesting site I came across explains the probability of ten popular every day named companies that are heading their way to demise. The list may suprise some.

In the not to distant future you will be able to begin adding a few Airlines to this list two that come to mind are American Airlines and Air Canada . They are fine for now but some time after the Olympics they will join the list

So does Obama bail out all of these companies also? To be fair why wouldn't he?

This shows why the GM bailout was just plain wrong.

Ask Ford and Chrysler whether they are enjoying competing against the government owned car company in their massive give away project right now.

Hi Micjer in all fairness the cash for clunkers program was not the success they envisioned many people purchased imports instead of domestic brands maybe they did it as protest or just went with the car they thought was better but it didn`t have the impact they thought it would . Now i could be wrong and brook would know better but thats just the impression I got from what I have read

Most of these companies have either had been floundering with marginal growth over the last few years or quite near the drowning pool itself:nono:

I'm quite sure the list will start growing faster in the next few months~
and I'm sure the next bunch > will really heighten the anxiety of the Western World's > business elite:mfr_omg:

Have you seen the cash credits being offered on GM's here in Canada right now. Brings the price of a new vehicle down to used car prices. My son was looking at a new truck and there were discounts of over $11,000. The competitors have to match this or miss out on the business.

This massive selloff has to happen for the companies to try and be profitable in the long term.

I remember back in the 80's there was an overabundance of farm tractors. They did the same thing..offered old stock at reduced prices to clear the glut and then it went to a order before made type production. Of course prices went away up and the deals were long gone. So this is a great opportunity for someone in a position to buy a new vehicle.

I just don't like the idea of the government owning large corporations, and privately owned ones having to compete against them.
