DO Try This At Home

I went today to pick up an order of sausages that age for years, that a friend sent to me from Vancouver (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charcuterie). She sent it to 'Lance and Rowan' and the woman (strangely enough the postal people have switched?) behind the counter said "you need ID to pick this up", "NO I DO NOT, I DO NOT NEED ID, that is 'policy', not LAW".

There were 4 people in line behind me and my sausages smell really good if you are an ominivore. I then launched into a diatribe in a measured manner about the creeping fascism and EVERY SINGLE person in line AGREED with me.

Speak up in public or soon, you won't be able to. I heard rumblings of 'strawman' from some mousy mid-50's woman whom giggled when I declared I had given up my drivers license and am buying an electric scooter for which I need no license.

I walked out of there, after looking at some techy **** which stated 'your signature may be viewed on line", I said...NO. The woman behind the counter said, "I can shut that off" (supposedly)with a signature on a LCD pad and NO ID. And will again, and again, and again, because the face of freedom is the woman standing behind the counter realizing she is being lead down a path that not one of her customers cared to travel.

Fascism, even the hint or lest whiff of it can be discarded when the populace say NO. Our new Postal Woman learned that today. And I am munching a hot Serbian sausage and smiling.

Way to go Lance, I just love it when people talk their feelings in common places like a postal. We have to, so many just surrender and do nothing. Recently I was in a public internet in Peru and I was shock to see a bunch of 6 to 10years kids playing some military killing game on computer. Really hardcore game. So I begin to shout in front of everybody, I don't care what they might think of me, their ignorance was so deep. I believe I had a positive effect, giving them a different food for thought. I was also talking at the employee.
Anyway I appreciate your sharing Lance :glasses3:

It seems I have started a trend. Recently the 'guvmint' has determined livestock feed to be on a watch list and three folks went down to buy their chicken scratch and had to show ID and then lie about where they live. To pi** with that, the three 'amigos' went back, returned the feed and asked to be stricken from the list.

One small step by one person saying 'no', 'basta', enough and it gets roiling.
They later picked up their feed at the backdoor with no ID. I'm a small man on a small farm and viola...everyone is waking up. The feed ID thing has to do with 'bird flu', ie. if they know where you live they will come and kill your birds because your neighbour has poor sanitary conditions and some chickens died...

I crack my own feed and pay more.
