Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours

King Arthur and the Witch:

Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a
neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by
Arthur's youth and ideals. So the monarch offered him his freedom, as long
as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to
figure out the answer and, if after a year he still had no answer, he would
be put to death.

The question: What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even
the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible
query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch's
proposition to have an answer by year's end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the
priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but
no one could give him a satisfactory answer.

Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have
the answer. But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the
witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her
price first.

The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of
the Round Table and Arthur's closest friend!

Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one
tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never
encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life. He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur.

He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur's life and the
preservation of the Round Table.

Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur's question
thus:

What a woman really wants, she answered, is to be in charge of her own life.
Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great
truth and that Arthur's life would be spared. And so it was; the neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom, and Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.

The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific
experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most
beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded
Lancelot asked what had happened.

The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared
as a witch, she would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half
the time and the beautiful maiden the other half.

Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day... or night?

Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show
off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old
witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by
night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments?

What would YOU do?

What Lancelot chose is below. BUT....make YOUR choice before you scroll down
below. OKAY?

Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.
Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time
because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.

Now... what is the moral to this story?

The moral is....

If you don't let a woman have her own way -

Things are going to get ugly.:wall:

This is a reply to Brinty`s post #2074 two great guitar players Chet Atkins and Mark K. from Dire Straits fame . theses 3 guys I first heard play together in 1982 on an album called An Evening In San Francisco the preformers are Al DiMeola, Paco DeLucia , and John McLaughlin this song is one they played on that album Give it a listen

WOW! :mfr_omg:
Northern Boy, those guys really know their guitars. Man and guitar are just one entity - part man, part guitar. Oh to have such nimble fingers that just know what to do and when to do it. At times, their speed is so fast that the camera can't keep up and they just become a blur.
Thanks for the chance to see and hear them. :thumb_yello:

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours

The Journey

I have been here no for the better part of 8 months I have met some very intelligent people and this was a group that I have learnt many things from . We don`t always see eye to eye our views on events and incidents that occur around the world differ at times for what ever reason . This is not bad for if we all thought alike how would we know if some thing was wrong . We are all unique and different and this allows us to view these things from different angles and points of view . If we all thought the same NONE of us would have ever found this place , 9-11 would have been a terrorist act . The fact is we saw something that was wrong and we started to look at it . We dissected it over and over again till we knew their story was wrong .

Then we went on to discover more and more untruth`s from who we really are to those we put in office to protect and honor our rights and freedoms . We have realized now that we have been deceived at the highest level and that your vote has come down to merely an excuse to continue this charade.

I want to thank every one that joined and displayed the courage to look around the corner and down the street to find the real answers that plague humanity. Keep looking there is more to discover and unlock

When i first joined i was a little tentative about posting I was just starting my journey and some of the posts here were for me intimidating . So for a long time i read and read and spent countless hours going over things and researching the stuff I was reading here . And just when i thought ...AHA... I would open another door .

So we all found that we were chasing a busy rabbit you all helped me and I have tied to help you, I hope I have .

Humble I sent you a PM this morning after reading your post And it looks like Dan and i had pretty much the same thing to say about your job . You are strong and despite every thing You hang true to your beliefs A very honorable trait .

777 and judyk you have by far some of the most eye opening posts I have ever seen and you pack them full of information .

Jester I know your not here but will check back and see this Thank you for leading me here its the best eduction I`ve ever had

day thank you for all of the stuff you have posted here it has been an encyclopedia of ancient wisdom on how we should have lived our lives your people knew had it right and saying sorry for what happened to your race will never make up for it

It is time for me to move on and spend less time here I will check in from time to time thank you all for letting me share this experience with you ................. Rick:surfing:

Could this story, as told here by Johnny Paycheck, be part of what is wrong with mainstream churches or religion today?
