Private Messages/ emails
 

I have run into a problem. One that has caused me some difficulty, and I would like some answers from the Mods about what the problem might be.

First, I have been here for over a year, and know how to send PM's...so that is not an issue here.

It appears that these PM's did not get to the recepiant. So where did they go? did they go to another account? I checked my sent file, and they are not there either.

I also notice, I cannot get to the Avalon Lounge..which is in the "subscription" section, and I cannot access that either. I did get a PM today from Luminari, and he said do a search for "lounge", and I cannot find it there either. So...my question is...what the heck happened to my account? Why can't I get to the Lounge and the subscription section. And what is happening to my PM's?

Is anyone else having this problem? Or is it just me. :nono:

This has also happened to others. I am interested in the outcome of this question. Thank you for asking it openly Brook.

It's hard to stay in touch with our spiritual family if our PMs are not received... It disconnects us.

I need to add that this seems selective and does not happen all the time to me.

Yeah Worm...It has cause me a BIG problem..one that cannot be straightened out now...and I feel the problem needs to be fixed

Yes, I got it...but...I have been getting PM's from some others..but I just need to find out why it's happening, and get it fixed

I have flagged this thread for attention. I think Gareth is on line - he has been doing some necessary work on the PM system perhaps this is related.

Thank you Anchor...you know as I said, this has caused me a HUGE problem..one that cannot be rectified now. And it's a bit upsetting. I understand there have been some problems lately. But OMG,,you have no idea what a big problem this as caused for me.

Thusrday, and Firday. And I think Saturday also...but I'm not too sure about Saturday.

Actually it may have been Late Wednesday night too...no too sure exactly what the time was...could have been around midnight

Also, when I click the link Luminari sent me to go to the Lounge..it says I am not authorized to access

This is what it says..someone just sent me a link for the lounge

Now you all know I practically built that thread..so I should have access

The whole "subscription" section is gone for me in the Avalon forum section too...which is where the Lounge is.

I get the same message Brook....only noticed it today as I haven't been in here for a week. Rather frustrating when someone takes the time to send you a message and you cannot reply.

I'll be watching this thread to see what the outcome is.

someone that sent me a PM.

For what it is worth I can access the lounge.

Just wondered if your subscriptions would have ran out by now if the forum hadn't became free again? Just wonder if it is a programming thing. Mine wouldn't have run out yet.

Perhaps I can put this straight for you as this will affect others in time.

The "lounge" access was via your subscription which, for you, expired on 14 Dec 09.

Now because the forum is free again this doesn't present a problem posting, however with the subscription expiring the group access that it gave was also lost automatically - I have only manual control over this after the fact.

I am going to come up with a permanent solution in the form of a private invite-only section for those interested in such a thing and i will appoint someone out there to moderate its access - not a job i want to get landed with.

I am going on holiday for 2 weeks and will attend to this when i return. In the mean time BROOK i have fixed this manually for you.

As for PM's - ensure you address them correctly and you will not be able to send to members whose mail boxes are full.

We are still ironing out the issues of going free again and we will sort them in time - you will just need to be patient with us. Remember we (Administrators and Moderators) are ALL volunteers on this forum and donate our time freely - a fact that sometimes gets lost in the activity on what is an extremely busy forum.

If possible, find yourself a bit of peace and quiet somewhere. Sit down, relax and take a few deep breathes. Close your eyes and just let yourself drift and feel yourself let go of the junk and be reinvigorated.

Thank you Gareth, I can see the lounge now.

As for the emails...they were addressed correctly. They do not even show in my sent box. So this is of some concern to me. As it did cause a big misunderstanding. And the loss of a friend. due to the nature of not receiving the information.

I will in the future, check my sent box to be sure all correspondence is sent.

Damage done...time to move on.

One more thing...My join date was in October..I paid for exactly one year....so why did it show that I expired in December? That is very odd :shocked:
