Bob dylan

Keeping with the theme, who can resist the resister himself:

"He has his finger on the pulse of our generation."

Masters of War
Live at Woodstock 1994

http://i33.tinypic.com/zvt18p.jpg

CORRECTED VIDEO (5:10): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XvNOe...eature=related

Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
You that hide behind walls
You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

You that never done nothin'
But build to destroy
You play with my world
Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
When the fast bullets fly

Like Judas of old
You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
That runs down my drain

You fasten the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
You hide in your mansion
As young people's blood
Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

You've thrown the worst fear
That can ever be hurled
Fear to bring children
Into the world
For threatening my baby
Unborn and unnamed
You ain't worth the blood
That runs in your veins

How much do I know
To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
Though I'm younger than you
Even Jesus would never
Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
Is your money that good
Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
And your death'll come soon
I will follow your casket
In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

Okay everybody, it's time for another trip in our time machine. This time you'll need to bring your sunscreen, dark glasses and skis. We'll be up above the snow-line where you will be entertained by the Sargossa Band playing a medley of their hits from the '90s.

While there might be snow around, believe me, if you can keep up with the band, you'll soon be casting off clothing.

Are you ready? Then let's go . . . .

How about a bit of jazz now? Let's take in Ella Fitzgerald the queen of scat singing, accompanied by that consummate group, Manhattan Transfer bringing us their version of How High The Moon.

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours

I was in the doctor's waiting room when this guy walked in. The receptionist asked him what his name was and what he had. He said, "My name's David and I've got shingles." So she wrote down his name, address, medical insurance number and told him to have a seat.

Fifteen minutes later a nurse's aide came out and asked him what he had. He said, "Shingles." So she wrote down his height, weight, a complete medical history and told him to wait in the examining room.

A half hour later a nurse came in and asked him what he had. He said, "Shingles." So the nurse gave him a blood test, a blood pressure test, an electrocardiogram, and told him to take off all his clothes and wait for the doctor.

An hour later the doctor came in and found David sitting patiently in the nude and asked him what he had. He said, "Shingles." The doctor asked, "Where?"

David said, "Outside on the truck. Where do you want me to unload 'em??"

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours

HaHa I could've guessed the punch line to that one Brinty, That's like the blind man from the village. Where a bunch of naked women are lounging by the back yard pool when there's a knock on the front door, and one woman answers it and he says that he's the blind man from the village, so she tells the rest of the women who it is and they all say go ahead and let him in, he can't see us anyway.

So she lets him in and he looks around and says nice t..ts, where do you want your blinds?

Years ago in Auckland, New Zealand, there was a venetian blind company who's vans all had written across the back, 'CAUTION BLIND MAN DRIVING'.

It only took a few months before the anti-humor-brigade stepped in and had the signs removed.

Cool, Metallica in the Avalon Lounge.

Soundwave was almost a spiritual experience it was that good. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/en...smiley-002.gif

Highlight for me: Alice In Chains, new singer was excellent, Jerry was amazing on guitar.. hearing their set brought back so many memories and emotions for me. The whole stadium was %100 into it and singing along all the way under the stars.

Saw Nine Inch Nails and Lamb Of God for my 3rd time each.

The latter was mind-blowing in an outdoor setting with a great sound mix for a change. Such catchy thrash riffs, impossible to not to get into it.

Yeah Dan...I agree...depressing...but well put together, and a starteling view of where America has been going. Sad, because I truly do love this country...it's a shame it's been allowed to get to this.:mad3:

Yup it's funny because I was just telling Egg in another thread that I've got to join the failing system(bankruptcy/foreclosure), to get out of the failing system! For me freedom is 3 weeks away!!

Nice.

I like listening to Sanitarium(Welcome Home) from Master of Puppets. That is some good stuff and I'm unsure of the vocals for that song but it has that killer 80s metal feel to it.

I have to admit that "Enter Sandman" is a song that always gets me going.

Exit light, Enter night....

That song speaks to my strengths, the part of me that is not willing to die, not willing to give up. It's the kind of song where I feel, "You think you could keep me down but you failed!"

Fade to Black is awesome as well. That's up there as one of my favorite Metallica songs.
