My experience with Ayahuasca

I went to Iquitos Peru a couple of years ago with my wife because I wanted to prove to myself once and for all that there is a God and if so, communicate with he/she/it.

I should have known better and that I was potentially biting off more than I could chew but I'm good at making blunders.

The first experience was rather mild and pleasant. The second night we did something called Thunder Ayahuasca which rather than being mud brown was more like a blood red concoction. The Shaman knew of my intent so decided to give me a full bowl all the way to the brim to meet my objective.

My stomach immediately began to burn after ingesting it. This was a stark precursor as I look back now. I started off with the usual geometric images flushed with brilliant pinks,yellows,greens, and purples mostly in stacked rectangular shapes that blinked on and off.

Then after only perhaps one minute of drinking it I closed my eyes....
That's when I got struck by lightning, or was transported to another dimension. I knew I was no longer here on earth because the place where I was at had a feel of reality that was so intense that the world that you and I live in right now took on a shallow illusionary comparison. I also had the strong sense that being a million or billion miles away from our ceremonial hut would in no way come close to how far away I was suddenly transferred to. To add to this I heard a vibratory sound that sped up and was a roar of speed that was uncontemplatable just before and during my arrival to this place. I learned after the fact that Terence McKenna has described this sound as the sound that you hear just before you meet the machine elves. I was about to find out what he was talking about.

I was down inside of a square room with blue walls that continued up about 10 feet and then went off at right angles as if I was inside of a pit in actuality. I could look up from the wall that was facing me and see that I was facing an even bigger wall that was above my four walls that surrounded me. The wall went up as high as I could see and it went left and right as far as I could see as well.

About 30 feet up or so there was a perfectly round face with a totally neutral expression that looked more geometrical than natural. It was glowing silver in color. Around it was a square pattern of many smaller versions of the face's eyes that were all opening and closing, all of which had the similar brilliant silver shining appearance.

There was no communication between the huge face and myself in the traditional sense of the word. The face would project things and I would suddenly know them as truths. This was not verbal, mental, emotional or any other kind of communication that I can think of. It was if the thoughts were simultaneously my thoughts with no time lapse or path between us. Our thoughts were one and our thoughts were God's...

One of those truths that came to my realization was that at that very moment I was sitting on the outside of the universe looking at it as if it were an egg and I were nothing more than the smallest particle of a atom brushing along it's outer shell....

The next realization/truth was given to me in a fashion that was like a wave hitting me at a different slowed increment of time that I could never ever have had the patience to wait for but would have to let seep in slowly just the same whether I liked it or not...

So some six months later it had finally flowed through my body and its message was this....

The universe is a perfect mechanism....

This is why I was shown the universe from the outside and was shown all of those eyes which seemed to correlate to a needed action to keep the universe running.



That first flash of a vision was the most profound of the entire night and I went on to see many more things for the next 7-10 hours or so. I was given my request after all. I was highly foolish to think that the encounter would have happened in a way that I could have contemplated as it did not happen in such a manner what so ever. Looking back now, I should have set my aims perhaps a little more humbly but I did get what I asked for.

I don't know for sure if I looked on the face of God but I do know that the experience while it happened took every single neuron that my brain had to face that encounter. The experience had my total attention while it happened. Such was my overwhelming encounter that to this day, even years later I think about it only when I'm centered and balanced as it's just too intense to consider in any other way.

Ayahuasca can humble the strongest man alive and it certainly humbled me. I learned a profound respect for it and the Shamans who ingest it regularly. Ayahuasca is nothing to be trifled or played with. It is true magic.

A magic that I had searched for my entire life until that moment. The moment that I had found... True magic.
